Fields of Sound

Devil was a project originally conceived of as a metal band, but quickly morphed into a system-based rock improv unit. Charts for Tracks 1-3 were created using “Monopoly” dice which generated numbers for x/y coordinates. The coordinates were transcribed to large poster paper representing dynamics over time. Devil used the charts to direct the improvised sounds. The players, D Kal Koda (AKA Dave Campbell) and Daron M (Murphy) fit perfectly into this structure. Both understand eclectic musical directions and are sensitive improvisors.
